Session 1 – Bridging the Gap: BI Claims in Global Programmes – Managing Difference in Conditions and Limits (DIC/DIL)

Alexandra Lyons, Legal Director, DLA Piper UK LLP, Natasha Reed, Technical claims Manager at Aviva and Vivienne Hexter, Head of Technical Wordings at Aon will with walk through a case study to bring to light the practical and legal challenges that arise when a Business Interruption loss occurs in jurisdictions where local policies differ in scope or limit from the global master policy. Panellists will explore how DIC/DIL clauses work, discuss jurisdictional and regulatory hurdles, and share examples of where claims handling becomes complex or disputed

 

Session 2 – BI Claims: Adapting to Uncertainty and Responding to Emerging Global Risks

Julie Kimmens, Head of Technical Risk Claims at Starr Underwriting Agents Limited and Jonathan Bucknell Sargent, Global Head of Technical Excellence and Large Loss Management at Swiss Re together with Paul Isaac, Partner at MDD will explore how BI claims could be impacted by inflation, interdependency of supply chains, US tariffs and wider geopolitical events and provide valuable insights and perspectives on emerging risks and the impact of these risks in BI claims, share examples of the impact on various industry sectors considering how the insurance sector could shape and deliver solutions in line with the evolving risk landscape

The session aims to highlight real-world examples of disputes or variations in expert analysis and foster discussion around best practices, consistency, and judgment
