    MDD will present an introduction to CAT claims quantification, focussing on Forensic Accounting/Business Interruption.

Afternoon Presentations 

Our afternoon presentations are intended for the more experienced claims professionals, with more detailed examples of case studies and insights. We welcome those who attended the morning to join as well (space permitting), as this will provide an opportunity for additional learning and the chance to connect with market colleagues and peers.

  • 1.50pm – 2.30pm        The 5th Element – Global Warming & El Nino – Presented by Jeff Williams
    Whether we are talking about hurricanes, typhoons, storms, floods, or wildfires, all of them are affected by global warming. Its undeniable impact comes into sharp focus when we consider the ever-increasing frequency and intensity of these events. Join us as we identify and discuss some of the most concerning factors and trends.
  • 2.30pm – 3.10pm        Spot the Difference – Presented by Paul Isaac
    While it is understandable to assume the handling of BI Claims is similar for most events the world over, the reality is that many factors alter the approach to claims quantification. Our experts will discuss our experiences with these differences and highlight several of the challenges we have helped insurers address.

  • 3.30pm – 4.15pm        Panel Discussion – Presented by Daniel Brown, with Hannah Lander of Hiscox and Alistair Jacob of Dekra
    Our interactive panel discussion, chaired by MDD with senior market guests, will look to expand on the findings from MDD’s CAT survey, which all attendees will be invited to engage with.
