Senior Accountant

Job Description

Our Toronto office is currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical skills, a desire to work in a fast-paced work environment, as well as an interest in learning about new businesses. Our compensation packages are competitive with the major accounting firms.

Responsibilies

We are looking for a qualified accountant with an interest in pursuing a career in forensic accounting.

The tasks performed will include, but are not limited to:

• Preliminary to intermediate analysis of sales, production and other accounting data
• Physical inventory observation, price testing
• Examination of source documents pertinent to engagement
• Checking and proofing reports and schedules
• Conduct phone, video or in person interviews to obtain information
• Prepare preliminary draft of report narrative and schedules
• Analyze and reconcile claim to final calculation
• Research, data analysis and evaluation
• Invoice analysis
• Attend marketing events and functions with clients

Requirements

1. Chartered Professional Accountant designation (CPA) or near completion
2. Minimum two years of relevant work experience
3. Interest in pursuing a secondary designation such as the CBV
4. Strong communication skills and attention to detail
5. Ability to work independently and in a team environment
6. Must be able to work under pressure or tight deadlines
7. Well-developed analytical, writing and problem solving skills
8. Ability to understand a business and how loss events have impacted it
9. Willingness to accept increasing responsibility as experience grows
10. Proficiency in Microsoft office, specifically Excel, Word, Outlook & Teams
11. Additional language skills considered an asset
