Juan Manuel Holgado

Juan Manuel Holgado began his career as a forensic accountant in 2016 and is now a Senior Manager at MDD’s Latin American office. He has worked on engagements across North America, Latin America and the Caribbean.

Juan is a forensic accountant with vast experience in the economic damage quantification of business interruption, contingent business interruption and extra expenses, advance loss of profits/delay in start-up, builders’ risk & soft costs, fraud and investigations, and stock and contents.

He has considerable catastrophe services experience, having worked on assignments resulting from hurricanes Irma, Maria, Eta, Iota, and Otis.

His industry experience includes, but is not limited to, power generation, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, mining, hospitality & tourism, and retail.

He has presented seminars and workshops on business interruption and advance loss of profits/delay in start-up-related topics to various clients across Latin America.

Juan is fluent in Spanish and English. He graduated from Florida International University (FIU) with a Bachelor of Business in Finance and Real Estate. He also received his Master of Science in Finance and Master of Accounting from FIU.

Stephanie Ceus

Stephanie joined MDD Forensic Accountants in 2023. She is a Manager at the firm’s Houston office.

Stephanie began her career as a forensic accountant in 2012. She specializes in quantifying economic damages for matters related to business interruption, contingent business interruption and extra expenses, employee dishonesty & fraud, fidelity claims, fraud & investigations, and commercial disputes.

She has been engaged across various industries, including oil & gas, hospitality & tourism, manufacturing, construction, agriculture, railroads, and pharmaceuticals.

Stephanie has vast experience in catastrophe services, having worked on assignments resulting from the Tohoku Earthquake (Japan), Thailand Floods, Super Storm Sandy, Hurricane Harvey, COVID-19, Hurricane Zeta, Winter Storm Uri, and 2021 Hurricane Ida.

She is fluent in both English & Spanish.

Stephanie graduated from St. John’s University in Queens, NY, with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.

Jaime Muñoz Arroyo

Jaime joined MDD’s London office in 2019. He is a Senior Manager at the firm.

Jaime has approximately ten years of experience within the forensic accounting field and his professional practice concentrates primarily on issues related to business interruption, extra expenses/increased costs, product liability & recall, stock & contents, and litigation services.

Jaime has gained valuable experience in working for both insurers and law firms across a variety of losses in Latin America and Europe. Jaime is currently focusing on growing our service practice in Spain.  He also has considerable catastrophe services experience, having worked on losses stemming from the 2016 Ecuador Earthquakes, Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico, and the Mexico Earthquake in 2017, as well as losses arising from COVID-19.

Jaime has been involved in cases that have varied widely in complexity and value, ranging from several hundred thousand dollars to losses in excess of USD 100 million.

He also speaks on topics related to principles of business interruption. He launched our Spanish BI Pannel initiative, presenting to a variety of stakeholders within the insurance industry in Spain.

Jaime has experience across a broad spectrum of industries, including the agriculture industry, food & beverages, hospitality, pulp & paper, and retail, amongst others.

Jaime graduated from Universidad Tecnologica Metropolitana, Chile and is a native Spanish speaker.

Marcelo Fazio

Marcelo joined MDD Forensic Accountants’ London, England office in 2000. He is the firm’s Managing Director of Latin American Operations, based out of Ft Lauderdale.

An economic damage quantification specialist – and fluent in English, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian and German – Marcelo has worked on assignments across Europe, North America, Latin America, Africa and the Caribbean.

He has experience in virtually every aspect of forensic accounting. Most notably, he has a wealth of experience with catastrophe services area, including assignments quantifying business interruption losses resulting from hurricanes Isidore, Kenna, Fabian, Ivan, Katrina, Emily, Wilma, Harvey, Maria and Irma, as well as the Chilean earthquake and various floods and landslides across Latin America.

Marcelo has worked on a number of litigation and specialty-line cases in Latin America, including surety, fraud, breach of contract and shareholders disputes.  Furthermore, he has extensive experience in handling contingent business interruption, delay in startup and advanced loss of profits assignments.

Marcelo has had extensive exposure to numerous industries including, but not limited to: steel and basic metals, mining, construction, energy and utilities, oil refining and petrochemical, agribusiness, electronic manufacturing, pharmaceutical, healthcare, hotel and entertainment, retail and wholesale, professional services, transportation and warehousing, and food processing.

He has given numerous industry presentations, seminars and workshops in the U.S., UK, Germany, Switzerland, Mexico, Colombia, Chile and Brazil.

Marcelo graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Economics. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

Samuel Dorie

Samuel joined MDD’s London office in 2012.  In 2018 he relocated to open the firm’s Paris office where he is now a Director, having been tasked with the expansion of our company into local markets in Europe.

He has been involved in cases extending to interruption losses in excess of £100 million as well as providing advisory services on pre-loss scenarios.

Sam has worked on a variety of business interruption claims including loss of profit, advanced loss of profits, extra expenses/ increased costs, physical damages, product liability & recall, reported insurance values and stock and contents losses.  He has also gained considerable experience in the firm’s litigation, fraud and subrogation support practices as well as within insurance and reinsurance portfolios.

His industry experience includes aviation, automotive, agriculture, food & beverages, financial services, hospitality, entertainment, luxury goods, media & advertising, industrial manufacturing, oil & gas, petrochemical, pharmaceuticals, power generation, professional services and transportation.

He is also a key speaker on topics related to principles of business interruption. He also launched our Paris BI Academy initiative, presenting to a variety of stakeholders within the French and Spanish risk and insurance industry.

As a British and French native, Samuel is fluent in French, English and Spanish with basic knowledge of Portuguese.

Sam graduated from Aston University with a Bsc (Hons) degree in International Business Studies and Modern Languages and is in the process of becoming a qualified management accountant in both France and the UK, and completing a Master’s in Business and Administration.

Edward Secchi

Edward joined MDD’s London office in 2010. He is now a Director and works out of the firm’s Dubai office.

Edward has gained extensive experience in matters related to business interruption, lost profits, loss of earnings, extra expenses/increased costs, product liability & recall, physical damages, stock & contents and fraud.

Edward also has considerable catastrophe services experience having worked on losses stemming from the 2010 Chilean and 2012 Italian national catastrophes that involved many complex issues including production versus sales losses, mitigation / make up and other measurement considerations.

His industry experience includes work in the automotive industry, aviation, aquafarming, construction, manufacturing, retail, oil & gas, power generation, hospitality & tourism, food services, pharmaceutical, pulp & paper and publishing.

Edward has been involved in cases that have varied widely in complexity and value, ranging from several hundred thousand dollars to losses in excess of $200 million.

Edward has prepared and presented at various seminars and training sessions on a variety of topics including business interruption measurement issues, stock loss issues, issues resulting from a delay in start-up and others in the UK, France, Italy and Spain.

Edward is a native Italian, is fluent in French and is proficient in Spanish and Portuguese.

He graduated from Edinburgh Napier University with a BA (Hons) degree in Business Studies with Finance.

Jessica Feola

Jessica began her career with MDD Forensic Accountants’ Miami office in 2001. In 2012, she became part of the firm’s Latin American Operations and is now a Senior Manager at the firm.

Fluent in Spanish, Jessica’s practice focuses on quantifying economic damages related to litigation and insurance matters, including business interruption, lost profits, extra expenses/increased costs and others. Additionally, she has significant catastrophe services experience having worked on assignments ensuing from hurricane Odile in 2014.

She has worked on engagements ranging from $500,000 to $200 million with insurance carriers across a wide range of industries including power generation and distribution, retail and wholesale, agriculture, mining and refining, hotels and resorts, entertainment, manufacturing, gas transmission and chemical manufacturing.

Jessica graduated cum laude from Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.

George Kramer

George began his career with MDD Forensic Accountants’ Miami office in 2002 and is now a Partner at this location. He forms part of the firm’s Latin American Operations and works on assignments in Central and South America as well as the Caribbean.

George specializes in the economic damage quantification of business interruption, fraud, extra expenses, surety & funds control, fidelity claims, and stock & contents claims. Additionally, he has significant catastrophe services experience having worked on assignments ensuing from hurricanes Charley, Frances, Ivan, Jeanne, Katrina, Wilma, Odile, Harvey, Irma and Maria.  He was also actively engaged during the Chilean earthquake of 2010. He is fluent in Spanish with a basic knowledge of Portuguese.

George has provided litigation support on numerous occasions, including testimony at depositions and federal court trial.

George graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He also received his Master of Accounting degree from Florida State University.

Marguerite Hart

Marguerite joined MDD Forensic Accountants in 2007. She is a Partner at the firm’s Pittsburgh office.

Marguerite specializes in applying forensic accounting techniques for damage analysis and valuations. An accountant for over 25 years, she focuses on the quantification of damages resulting from business interruption, cyber risks, fidelity claims, fraud and investigations, liability losses and personal injury & wrongful death. In addition, she has been active in the area of catastrophe services.

Marguerite works on complex losses throughout the U.S. as well as internationally. Her experience spans a wide range of industries such as automotive, aviation, bio-fuels, cannabis, hospitality, manufacturing, maritime, medical, oil and gas, power generation, professional services, steel and technology.

She serves as a consultant for litigation matters and has been recognized as an expert in state and federal courts as well as alternative dispute settings. She works extensively with counsel through all phases of the litigation process, from discovery though expert testimony.

Marguerite is a dual national (France and U.S.), fluent in French and English and has a working knowledge of Spanish.

Maria Geyer

Maria joined MDD Forensic Accountants’ New York office in 1990. She is a Partner at the firm.

Maria has expertise in a wide range of practice areas such as business interruptionlost profits, cyber risks, extra expenses/increased costs, marine, stock & contents, construction defects, builder’s risk & soft costs, physical damagesproduct liability & product recall, third-party liability, theft, fidelity/employee dishonesty, financial condition, personal injury & wrongful death, and subrogation.

Her industry experience includes retail and wholesale, financial services, manufacturing, professional services and renewable energy.

Maria has been retained as an expert witness in the area of accounting and damage evaluation, including admission as an expert witness in State court. Litigation support roles have included analysis of deposition transcripts, preparation of interrogatories of witnesses under oath and expert testimony, preparation of expert reports, and assistance with preparation of document requests for discovery.

Maria is fluent in Spanish and was an integral part of MDD’s catastrophe team in Chile due to the 2010 earthquake and in Puerto Rico due to Hurricane Maria in 2017.

She is a member of the Executive Board of the New York City Association of Insurance Women and a Board Consultant / Accountant for the Loss Executives Association.

Maria graduated from New York University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.

Peter Karutz

Peter joined MDD Forensic Accountants in 1983. Ten years later, he became a Partner and currently works out of the St. Louis office. Peter is also the Team Leader of MDD’s Cyber Practice Group.

He has extensive experience quantifying economic damages for arbitrations and contractual disputes and has been qualified to serve as an expert witness in Federal courts in Missouri and Kansas. He has also assisted with depositions and discoveries in Pennsylvania, New York, Kentucky, Illinois, North Dakota, Minnesota and Missouri.

He specializes in matters related to lost profits, business interruption, physical damages, oil & gas, cyber risks, power generation, mining, stock & contents, catastrophe services and fraud.

Peter has worked on numerous projects both in the U.S. and abroad. His experience spans a wide range of industries including automotive, retail, grain processing and transportation, banking, ethanol, synthetic gas, biomass plants, fisheries, aerospace manufacturing, hotels and hospitality and entertainment

With a working knowledge of Spanish, he assisted in the measurement of damages that occurred as a result of the 2010 Chile earthquakes. Additionally, he assisted in the quantification, verification and analysis of damages that resulted from 9/11, Hurricane Katrina and the government closure of auto dealerships.

Peter has spoken to groups such as the American Bar Association, Lloyd’s of London Syndicates and Xchanging on forensic accounting topics such as Cyber Fraud. 

He serves on the Board of Directors of a number of charities and not-for-profit organizations and is an active member of the Knights of Columbus and Knights of Peter Claver. Peter is also president of the St. Louis chapter of Legatus.

He is a graduate of Loyola University of Chicago where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.

Markus Heiss

Markus joined MDD Forensic Accountants in 1993. He has been a Partner at the firm’s London, England office since 2002.

Markus has provided economic damage quantification assessments for over 1,000 files in more than 30 countries throughout Europe, the Middle East, Far East, Africa, Australasia and North and South America. His professional practice specializes in matters related to business interruption, lost profits, loss of income, stock and property damage losses, construction defects & claims, fidelity and fraud, often as a result of physical damages, machinery breakdown, natural disasters or contractual and legal disputes. 

He has been engaged on assignments involving retail, wholesale and manufacturing businesses across a wide range of industries including automotive, consumer goods packaging, telecommunications, mining & refiningpower generation, chemicals, petrochemicals, onshore and offshore energy, publishing, pulp and paper and steel.

Fluent in English, Spanish and German (mother tongue), Markus has provided expert witness testimony both in the UK and Europe.

He has conducted seminars and workshops in the UK, Europe and Dubai.

Markus graduated from Munich University as a ‘Diplom-Kaufmann’ in Business, Accounting, Tax and Law.
