Yiyan Lin

Yiyan joined MDD’s Singapore office in 2014. He is now a Manager and works out of the firm’s London office.

Since joining MDD, Yiyan has worked across a variety of practice areas including advance loss of profits/delay in start-up, business interruption, contingent BI and extra expenses, stock and contents, cyber, personal injury & wrongful death cases. His recent assignments have involved the energy, hospitality and tourism, manufacturing, oil & gas, power generation and retail sectors.

He graduated from Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) with a degree in Accountancy and Business and is fluent in Mandarin.

Aaron Isch

Aaron joined MDD Forensic Accountants Boston office in 2014. He is a manager at the firm.

Aaron has worked on assignments across most of our practice areas concentrating on business interruption, cyber risks, business disputes & shareholder disputes, business valuation, personal injury & wrongful death, lost profits, and post-acquisition disputes. He is also actively involved in the catastrophe services area, quantifying economic damages resulting from natural disasters, including hurricanes Harvey, Irma, Maria & Ida, California Wildfires, and the 2021 freeze in Texas.

His industry experience includes financial services, food services, healthcare, hospitality & tourism, manufacturing, professional services, and retail.

Aaron provides litigation support services to clients and has given expert witness testimony at depositions.

He has presented seminars on business interruption and liability losses.

Aaron recently completed a six-month secondment as a Claims Manager within Beazley’s Cyber and Technology group.

He received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting & Master of Business Administration from Salve Regina University.

Thomas McCarthy

Thomas is a Manager at MDD’s Sydney office.

Thomas’s practice specializes in quantifying economic damages related to business interruption, cyber risks, fraud and investigations, contingent BI & extra expenses, employment dishonesty & fraud and stock and content losses.

He also has considerable catastrophe services experience, gained from working on the East Coast Bushfires in 2019/20, the Queensland Floods in 2022, Cyclone Gabrielle in 2023 and Covid-19.

His industry experience includes manufacturing, mining, railroads, sports, entertainment & the arts, food services, hospitality & tourism and retail.

Thomas has presented to underwriters on the effects of inflation on the property and construction industry and has assisted in business interruption presentations.

Thomas graduated from Macquarie University with a Bachelor of Commerce degree and is a CA ANZ member.

Matt Fujii

Matt joined MDD Forensic Accountants in 2018 as a Co-op Student. He is currently a Manager at the firm’s Vancouver office.

Matt’s practice area expertise includes business interruption, contingent business interruption & extra expense, builders risk & soft costs, advance loss of profits/delay in start-up, stock and content losses, and personal injury & wrongful death. He has also been active in the catastrophe services area, quantifying economic damages due to the 2021 British Columbia floods.

He has handled assignments across various industries, including food services, construction, professional services, retail, manufacturing, wholesale, and agriculture.

Matt graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. He also holds his Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.

Ryan McCann

Ryan joined MDD Forensic Accountants in 2023. He is a manager at the firm’s New York office.

Ryan started his career in forensic accounting in 2017 and has vast experience from both the claim prep and insurance side.

He specializes in the quantification of economic damages for matters related to business interruption, cyber risks, contingent BI & extra expense, physical damages, lost profits, and fidelity claims.

Ryan has been engaged across various industries, including automotive, retail, food services, manufacturing, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals, and professional services.

He received his Masters in Taxation and Bachelor of Accounting at Fordham University.

Meg O’Brien

Meg joined MDD Forensic Accountants’ New York office in 2018. She is a Manager at the firm.

Meg has worked on assignments across most of our practice areas concentrating on business interruption, builders’ risk and soft costs claims, contingency claims & entertainment claims, cyber risks, contingent BI & extra expense, product liability & product recall and stock and content losses. She is also actively involved in the catastrophe services area, quantifying economic damages resulting from Covid-19 and natural disasters, including hurricanes Irma, Maria & Ida, California Wildfires, Tennessee tornados, and the 2021 freeze in Texas.

Her industry experience includes hospitality and tourism, construction, sports, entertainment & the arts, professional services, pharmaceuticals, power generation, and manufacturing, specializing in complex integrated processes, architectural float glass, and niche manufacturing markets.

Meg has assisted with discovery demands, mediation, deposition, & trial preparation.

She received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting & Master of Business Administration in Public Accounting from SUNY Oswego.

Danielle Toca-Smith

Danielle started as a Co-op student at MDD Forensic Accountants’ Montreal office in 2017. Upon graduation, she joined MDD full-time and is currently a Manager at the firm.

Danielle’s practice specializes in quantifying economic damages related to cyber risks, contingency & entertainment claims, subrogation, stock & content losses, product liability & product recall, lost profits, liability losses, extra expenses/increased costs, and business interruption.

Her industry experience includes automotive, retail, professional services, sports, entertainment & the arts, manufacturing, food services, hospitality & tourism, and wholesale. She has also been active in the catastrophe services area, quantifying economic damages that occurred due to the 2021 British Columbia wildfires and the 2021 British Columbia floods.

Danielle is fluent in French and completed her Bachelor of Commerce with a double major in accounting and economics from Concordia University. She also holds her Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.

Bryce Livingston

Bryce joined MDD Forensic Accountants’ office in 2019 as a Senior Accountant. He is currently a Manager at the firm’s Calgary office.

Bryce’s practice area expertise includes business valuations, litigation support, business disputes & shareholder disputes, divorce & marital disputes, business interruption, stock & contents losses, lost profits and surety bond & fund control services. He has also been active in the catastrophe services area, quantifying economic damages that occurred as a result of the 2020 Fort McMurray wildfires.

He has handled assignments across various industries, including financial services, retail, hospitality & tourism, wholesale, manufacturing, professional services, construction, and food services.

Bryce graduated from Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) with a Bachelor of Business Administration, Accounting Major. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant and Chartered Business Valuator.

John Otting

John joined MDD Forensic Accountants in 2004. In 2014, John left to become CFO of a privately-owned full-service marketing firm. He returned to MDD in 2023 as a Senior Manager at the firm’s Atlanta office.

A seasoned forensic accounting professional, John has worked on assignments involving business interruption, extra expenses/increased costs, financial condition, lost profits and breach of contract, fraud and embezzlement, and inventory/physical damage claims. He also has significant experience in the catastrophe services area, having worked on files related to Hurricane Katrina and Superstorm Sandy.

He has been engaged across various industries, including pulp and paper, hospitality, chemical, hospitals & physicians’ offices, textile, retail, agriculture, lumber & manufacturing.

John has been involved in numerous cases in a litigation support role, including review and analysis of transcripts, preparation of inquiries of witnesses under oath and expert testimony, preparation of expert reports, and assistance with all aspects of discovery, including preparation of document responses and propounding document requests.

He received his Bachelor of Business Administration – Accounting Major from the University of West Georgia..

Katie Soer

Katie specializes in areas such as surety and fidelity claims, funds control administration, personal injury, litigation services, lost profits, extra expense/increased costs, and divorce and marital disputes.

Her industry experience includes construction, real estate development, healthcare, manufacturing, and retail.

Before joining MDD, Katie was an assistant vice president of accounting for a real estate developer, where she managed a team of accountants and over $2 billion in assets.

She has presented on various topics related to bond and surety claims.

Katie graduated from Benedictine College with a bachelor’s in Accounting, a Bachelor’s in Business Administration (Finance), a Bachelor’s in Religious Studies, as well as graduating from St. Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology with a Master of Theological Studies.

James Deddens

James joined MDD Forensic Accountants in 2022. He is a Manager at the firm’s Chicago office.

James started his career in 2006 and brings broad-based international consulting experience and forensic accounting expertise to MDD.

He specializes in the quantification of economic damages for matters related to business interruption, extra expenses/increased costs, fidelity claims and fraud investigations, product liability & product recall, reported insurance values, subcontractor defaults (SDI), builders risk & soft cost claims, and cyber risk. James also has significant experience in the catastrophe services area, most notably having worked on projects related to Hurricanes Irma and Maria, and the Iowa derecho.

He has been engaged across various industries, including construction, financial services, food services, healthcare, hospitality & tourism, manufacturing & retail.

James received his Master of Accounting Science and Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Brian Christian

Brian began his career at MDD Forensic Accountants in the Chicago office in 2008 as an intern. The same year, he served on a catastrophe team during Hurricane Ike.

Brian has a reputation for taking on challenging assignments. He takes pride in setting the standard for exemplary customer service. This approach has allowed him to gain experience across many practice areas.

Clients frequently reach out to Brian for his expertise in the following industries: agriculture, construction, energy, financial services, food services, healthcare, IT, manufacturing, retail, and various other practice areas. Brian is also competent in builder’s risk claims, business interruption, catastrophe services, cyber risks, fidelity claims, National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), product liability, product recall, stock and contents, and subrogation matters.

Brian also has experience preparing expert reports for litigation, mediation, and arbitration settings.

He frequently conducts and participates in seminars and workshops on various insurance and litigation topics.

He graduated from the College of Business at Northern Illinois University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy. Brian also holds an Associate in Science Degree and Business Skills Certificate.

 

Francis Gagne

Francis is a Senior Manager/Vice President at MDD Forensic Accountants’ Montreal office. He first joined the firm’s Vancouver office in 2007 as a Staff Accountant.

With over 15 years of forensic accounting experience, Francis’ expertise includes economic damage quantification for matters related to business income losses, stock and content losses, product liability and recall, commercial disputes, and catastrophe services.

He has worked on assignments across Canada, the USA, Australia, New Zealand, and South East Asia. He has been involved in engagements that span various industries, including hospitality, manufacturing, retail, electronics, pharmaceuticals, and construction.

Francis has qualified as an expert witness and has provided testimony in the Superior Court of Quebec.

He is proficient in English and French and has conducted numerous seminars and workshops on the quantification of insurance losses in Quebec.

Francis graduated from Bishop’s University, receiving a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting & Finance. He also holds a Chartered Professional Accountant Designation and is Certified in Financial Forensics.

Daniel Brown

Daniel joined MDD Forensic Accountants in 2022. He is the firm’s Director of Global Catastrophe Operations and works out of MDD’s London, UK office.

Daniel has significant experience with our client base and markets and works with our team in London and around the globe.

He also regularly engages with global CAT clients to understand their needs and ensure that MDD’s unrivalled team of global forensic accounting experts meets their demands.

Daniel has over two decades of experience working in the London insurance market.

Marnie Silver

Marnie is a Director at MDD Forensic Accountants’ Toronto office. Previously she was a Vice President at a business valuation firm in Toronto and led the valuation practice at a mid-size firm for over a decade.

With over 20 years of experience in forensic accounting and business valuation, her expertise includes litigation accounting and quantification of damages concerning breach of contract, business interruption, expropriation, shareholder oppression and family law.

Marnie’s key practice areas involve the preparation of business valuations for shareholder disputes, estate planning, shareholder oppression, and family law matters. Her family law experience also includes determining income for child and spousal support purposes. In addition, Marnie also performs critical analysis and commentary of reports prepared by other experts.

Marnie has worked on a broad range of engagements across Canada, spanning various industries, including manufacturing, software and technology development, communication and media, pharmaceutical, automobile, retail, professional practices, and service firms.

She has been qualified as an expert witness and has provided testimony in the Ontario Superior court at trial and mediation proceedings. She has prepared or assisted in the preparation of numerous expert reports.

Marnie has conducted numerous seminars and workshops on the subject of business valuations.

She graduated from the University of Western Ontario, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree. She has a Masters of Business Administration from York University. Marnie also holds a Chartered Professional Accountant, Chartered Business Valuator, and Accredited Business Valuator Designations and is Certified in Financial Forensics by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Melissa Smith

Melissa joined MDD Forensic Accountants’ Atlanta office in 2001 as a Senior Accountant. She is now a Manager at the firm.

Melissa’s expertise includes the quantification of economic damages related to business interruption, extra expense/increased costs, fidelity claims, fraud & investigations, liability losses, lost profits, product liability & product recall, and stock & contents losses.

She has handled hundreds of assignments in the area of catastrophe services resulting from tropical storms and hurricanes in the Caribbean and the East and Gulf Coasts of the U.S., as well as claims involving tornadoes and floods.

Melissa routinely provides litigation support services to clients and has been deposed on several occasions.

She has worked on assignments in the automotive, food services, hospitality & tourism, professional services, retail, sports, entertainment & the arts, and healthcare industries.

Melissa graduated from Kennesaw State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting.

Pascal Labrosse

Pascal started as a Senior Accountant at MDD Forensic Accountants’ Montreal office in 2019. He is currently a Manager at the firm.

Pascal’s practice specializes in quantifying economic damages related to business interruption, cyber risks, extra expenses/increased costs, fraud & investigations, litigation support, and lost profits.

His industry experience includes agriculture, automotive, food services, financial services,  manufacturing and assembly, commercial rental properties, hotels and resorts, restaurants, retail and wholesale, and professional services. He has also been active in the catastrophe services area, quantifying economic damages that occurred due to Hurricanes lota and Eta.

Pascal is fluent in French and completed his Bachelor of Business Administration and Diploma of Higher Specialized Studies, Accounting, both from HEC Montreal.

Ken Standish

Ken joined MDD Forensic Accountants’ Chicago office in 2006 as a Staff Accountant. He is now a Manager at the firm.

Ken specializes in the areas of business interruption, stock & contents, cyber risk, extra expense/increased costs, subrogation, fidelity claims, lost profits, litigation support, and physical damages. He has also worked on several large product recall/ product liability matters.

Ken has significant experience in catastrophe services, working on assignments resulting from hurricanes, earthquakes, and floods.

He has worked across various industries, including automotive, retail, manufacturing, hospitality & tourism, pharmaceutical, healthcare, and agriculture.

Ken earned his Bachelor of Science in accountancy from Illinois State University. He also holds the professional designation of Certified Professional Accountant (CPA).

Trent Kral

Trent joined MDD Forensic Accountants in 2006. He is a Manager at the firm’s Minneapolis office.

His expertise includes the quantification of economic damages related to business interruption, extra expense/increased costs, lost profits, fraud & investigations, liability losses, stock & contents, and fidelity claims.

Trent has significant experience in industries related to retail and wholesale, food services, manufacturing, hospitality & tourism, rental properties, and several others.

He has been involved in a wide range of catastrophe losses related to Hurricanes Katrina, Irma and Harvey, Super Storm Sandy, Iowa floods, Joplin tornado, Derecho in Iowa, and many others.

Trent has assisted in mediations and appraisals.

He has also assisted in seminars & workshops related to lost profits, business interruption, and extra expense.

Trent graduated from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN, with his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.

Evelin Alchammas

Evelin joined MDD Forensic Accountants in 2021. She is a Manager at the firm’s Detroit office.

Evelin specializes in the quantification of economic damages related to business interruption, extra expenses/increased costs, and disability insurance claims.

Her industry expertise includes automotive, manufacturing, retail, professional services, and food services.

Before joining MDD, Evelin was an Assurance Manager at one of the Big Four accounting firms.

She received her Master of Accounting from Oakland University and Bachelor of Business Administration in Financial Accounting and Reporting from the University of Michigan-Dearborn.

Eric Johnson

Eric joined MDD Forensic Accountants in 2021. He is a Manager at the firm’s Dallas office.

Eric is a highly trained forensic accounting professional with over ten years of experience in business interruption, fraud & investigations, lost profits and litigation support.

His industry expertise includes financial services, retail, hospitality, food services, manufacturing, and automotive. In addition, Eric has extensive experience in the catastrophe services area, having worked on losses resulting from the Japan earthquakes, Thailand tsunami, hurricanes Matthew, Harvey, Irma, and Maria, and the Texas severe storms, tornadoes, straight-line winds, and flooding.

He received his Master of Science in Accounting degree from Texas A&M University and his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Accounting from Abilene Christian University.

Richard Parkinson

Richard joined MDD Forensic Accountants’ London office in 2022.  He is a Manager at the firm and he splits his time working for clients in London and clients in the rest of the UK, covering cities such as Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool, York, Sheffield, Newcastle and Glasgow.

He specialises in economic damage calculation matters such as business interruption, personal injury, commercial (contract disputes), fraud and investigations, and has industry experience across various sectors such as hospitality, retail, government services, healthcare and transportation.

Richard has catastrophe services experience, having worked on losses arising from COVID-19.

Richard has also gained experience working on a range of litigation and expert witness matters and has provided written expert reports for the Courts on numerous occasions.

Richard has conducted seminars and presentations throughout the UK on a wide variety of forensic accounting topics.

Prior to MDD, Richard worked for another forensic accounting firm for 14 years.  In this role, he gained experience across many different industries and managed a team involved with assisting insurance and solicitor clients.

Damien Beven

Damien joined MDD Forensic Accountants’ Sydney office in 2022.

He joined the firm around the time of the Eastern Australia floods – which had caused catastrophic damage to many homes and businesses – and worked with clients to quantify economic damages and help affected businesses return to operations.

With a background in commercial restructuring, turnaround and insolvency, this experience has taught Damien how to collect evidence, analyse financial transactions, identify trends and quantify damages. He has been involved in litigation support roles by drafting expert reports and attending to settlements.

Damien has worked in a variety of different industries, including retail, manufacturing, media & advertising, transportation, professional services, hospitality, and technology. These matters include companies with losses in excess of $20 million to $50 million.

Damien holds a Bachelor of Business with a double major in Accounting and Corporate Governance. He is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Australian Restructuring Insolvency and Turnaround Association.

Jonathan Hiland

Jonathan joined MDD Forensic Accountants Parsippany office in 2012. He is a Manager at the firm.

Jonathan has worked on assignments across most of our practice areas concentrating on business interruption, extra expenses/increased cost, personal injury, stock and contents loss, and builders risk and soft costs. He is also skilled in the catastrophe services area, quantifying economic damages resulting from COVID-19 and natural disasters, such as Superstorm Sandy, Hurricanes Harvey, Maria, Michael & Ida as well as the 2021 Texas freeze.

His industry experience includes hospitality, commercial and residential real estate, manufacturing, and retail.

Jonathan has provided litigation support to numerous clients and has served as an expert in mediation.

He received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Ramapo College of New Jersey.

Ariel Camara

Ariel joined MDD Forensic Accountants in 2017. He is a Supervisor in the firm’s São Paulo office.

Ariel has worked on assignments across most of our practice areas concentrating on business interruption, extra expenses/increased cost, lost profits, catastrophe services and fraud and investigations.

He has worked on numerous litigation files in Latin America and has testified in the Brazilian court system.

His industry experience includes agribusiness, power generation, pulp and paper, steel, fuel production, railroad and wholesale.

Ariel is fluent in both English and Portuguese.

He received his Accounting and Business Management Degree in Brasil from Centro Universitario FECAP.

Jeremy Bergerson

Jeremy joined MDD Forensic Accountants in 2010. He is a manager at the firm’s Minneapolis office.

Jeremy specializes in the quantification of economic damages for matters related to business interruption, lost profits, physical damages, extra expense/increased costs, liability losses, stock & contents, and litigation support.

He has been engaged on assignments across various industries including manufacturing, wholesale, power generation, retail, food services, and agriculture.

Jeremy has assisted in mediations and appraisals.

He graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting & Business Administration.

Jaime Muñoz Arroyo

Jaime joined MDD’s London office in 2019. He is a Manager at the firm.

Jaime has approximately ten years of experience within the forensic accounting field and his professional practice concentrates primarily on issues related to business interruption, extra expenses/increased costs, product liability & recall, stock & contents, and litigation services.

Jaime has gained valuable experience in working for both insurers and law firms across a variety of losses in Latin America and Europe. Jaime is currently focusing on growing our service practice in Spain.  He also has considerable catastrophe services experience, having worked on losses stemming from the 2016 Ecuador Earthquakes, Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico, and the Mexico Earthquake in 2017, as well as losses arising from COVID-19.

Jaime has been involved in cases that have varied widely in complexity and value, ranging from several hundred thousand dollars to losses in excess of USD 100 million.

He also speaks on topics related to principles of business interruption. He launched our Spanish BI Pannel initiative, presenting to a variety of stakeholders within the insurance industry in Spain.

Jaime has experience across a broad spectrum of industries, including the agriculture industry, food & beverages, hospitality, pulp & paper, and retail, amongst others.

Jaime graduated from Universidad Tecnologica Metropolitana, Chile and is a native Spanish speaker.

Amanda Schubert

Amanda joined MDD Forensic Accountants Miami / Fort Lauderdale office in 2012. She is a Manager at the firm.

Amanda has worked on assignments across most of our practice areas concentrating on business interruption, builders’ risk and soft costs claims, stock & contents, lost profits, extra expenses/increased costs, and fidelity claims. She is also actively involved in the catastrophe services area, quantifying economic damages resulting from natural disasters, including hurricanes Irma, Dorian, Harvey, Ida, Michael, Laura, and Florence, and the 2021 freeze in Texas.

Her industry experience includes construction, medical & dental practices, food services, multifamily residential, retail, manufacturing, and hospitality & tourism.

Amanda has assisted in providing litigation support to numerous clients. This includes reviewing and analyzing transcripts, preparing inquiries of witnesses under oath, and preparing economic damages calculations and reports.

She also has experience as an appraiser and has presented seminars on business interruption and extra expenses.

She received her Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Johns Hopkins University, a Masters of Science in Social Policy from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Masters of Accounting from Nova Southeastern University.

Meghan Finigan

Meghan joined MDD Forensic Accountants in 2005. She is a Manager at the firm’s San Francisco office.

As a forensic accounting expert, Meghan has worked on assignments across most of our practice areas. Meghan’s practice has concentrated on matters related to builders’ risk claims & soft costs claims, business interruption, cyber risks, extra expenses, personal injury & wrongful death, product liability & product recall and stock & contents losses. In addition, she has been actively involved in the catastrophe services area, quantifying economic damages resulting from natural disasters in Japan, Thailand & most recently the U.S.

Meghan has worked on assignments that have ranged in magnitude from under $1,000 to in excess of $500 million. Her industry experience has spanned a wide range of sectors including agriculture, construction, financial services, food services, healthcare, hospitality, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, professional services & retail.

Meghan has presented seminars and workshops on business interruption and cyber risks.

She received her Bachelor of Arts in Business Management Economics, with an emphasis in Accounting from the University of California, Santa Cruz.

Matthew Weinstein

Matthew joined MDD Forensic Accountants New York office in 2015. He is a Manager at the firm.

Matthew has worked on assignments across most of our practice areas concentrating on business interruption, extra expenses/increased costs, cyber risks, contingency claims including event cancellations, contractual performance indemnity, disability, physical damages, and stock and contents. He has also been actively involved in the catastrophe services area, quantifying economic damages resulting from hurricanes Harvey and Irma.

His industry experience includes sports and entertainment, retail and wholesale, hospitality, real estate, and professional services.

Matthew has assisted in mediations and depositions preparation.

He has presented seminars on business interruption, extra expense, and cyber business interruption.

Matthew received his Bachelor of Science degree, with a double major in accounting and finance from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Eddy Lee

Eddy is a Regional Managing Director and Head of Disputes and Litigation in Asia. He specialises in the areas of business valuation, economic loss quantification, cost verification, minority shareholder disputes and solving complex accounting issues.

Eddy provides expert financial advice in cases of litigation and international arbitration. He has been appointed both as a valuation and an accounting expert on numerous occasions and has given oral testimony.

Eddy is a Fellow of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales who, during his 19-year career, has advised on a diverse array of issues including identification and quantification of lost profits, the valuation of businesses and financial assets including shareholdings, intellectual property, and of wasted costs.

Eddy has prepared reports for submission to the Singapore High Court, Singapore International Commercial Court, the High Court of Malaysia, the High Court of England & Wales, the UK First Tier Tax Tribunal, the Grand Court of the Cayman Islands and arbitral tribunals under ICC, SIAC and UNCITRAL rules.

Eddy has been identified by Who’s Who Legal as a “Future Leader” in its listings of the leading expert witnesses active in international arbitration.

Eddy has also advised clients on regulatory matters, market assessments, and brand valuations and is regularly invited to speak at conferences and deliver training on a variety of economic damage quantification and other financial topics around the region.

Wina Marita

Wina began her career with Matson Driscoll & Damico in 2014 and is now a Manager in the firm’s Singapore office.

Since joining MDD, Wina has been involved mainly in the economic damage quantification of business interruption and stock losses.  She has also worked on litigation support and business valuation cases.  Wina has been involved in assignments across the region, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam and the Philippines.

Her industry experience includes agricultural, automotive, banking and financial services, distribution and warehouse, hotels and resorts, manufacturing, mining, petrochemical and oil refineries and technology.  Wina is fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and speaks conversational Mandarin.

Wina graduated from the University of London with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance (Honours). She is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).  She currently serves as the Treasurer of the Singapore Insurance Institute.

Michele Squeo

Michele joined MDD Forensic Accountants’ Parsippany office in 2021. He is a Senior Manager at the firm.

A forensic accountant with strong analytical skills, Michele focuses on the quantification of economic damages for matters related to business interruption, extra expenses/increased costs, stock & contents, builders’ risk, marine, physical damages and fidelity. He also has assisted in mediations and deposition preparation and has extensive experience in the area of catastrophe services.

Michele has been engaged across a broad range of industries, including hospitality, retail and manufacturing.

He has presented seminars and workshops on business interruption, extra expenses and stock and contacts for various insurers.

Michele received his MBA in Accounting degree from Pace University.

Matthew Rooney

Matt joined MDD Forensic Accountants’ London office in 2019.  He is a manager at the firm.

Matt specialises in economic damage calculation matters such as business interruption, expenses/increased costs, fraud & investigations, product liability and recall, litigation support, and loss of profits.  He has accrued industry experience across various industries such as hospitality & tourism, manufacturing, professional services and retail sectors.  Matt also has catastrophe services experience, having worked on losses arising from COVID-19.

Prior to MDD, Matt spent four years with one of the Big Four accounting firms in Dublin as a Risk Advisory Consultant.

Matt graduated from Cardiff University with a Bsc in Accountancy.

Rachel Janush

Rachel spent the first five years of her career working for MDD Forensic Accountants as a staff accountant in our Atlanta office.  She reunited with MDD in 2021 and is currently a Senior Manager at our Washington D.C. office.

A forensic accountant for over 25 years, Rachel has worked on assignments across most of our practice areas with a concentration on matters related to business interruption, extra expenses/increased costs, fidelity and stock & contents. She has also assisted in the valuation of assets for privately-owned companies and couples going through a divorce. In addition, she has been actively involved in the catastrophe services area, quantifying economic damages resulting from natural disasters in the United States, Puerto Rico & Jamaica.

Her industry experience has spanned a wide range of sectors, including food services, retail, hospitality & tourism and healthcare.

Rachel has also provided expert testimony in court, and assisted in mediations, arbitrations and deposition preparation.

She received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina.

Jason Roth

Jason joined MDD Forensic Accountants in 2021 and is Manager in the firm’s Atlanta office.

His expertise focuses on matters related to business valuations, business disputes & shareholder disputes, business interruption, divorce & marital disputes, lost profits and personal injury & wrongful death.

He has also worked across a range of sectors including construction, financial services, hospitality & tourism, maritime and healthcare.

Jason graduated from Tulane University with a Bachelor of Science degree with a double major in Finance & Jewish Studies as well as a Masters in Accounting.

Mark Boshnakis

Mark started at MDD Forensic Accountants’ Toronto office as a co-op student in 2015. After graduating in 2015, he joined MDD full-time and is now a Senior Manager/Vice President at the firm.

Mark’s practice specializes in quantifying economic damages related to business interruption, accident benefits, personal injury, fidelity, cyber losses and liability. Most recently, he has worked on entertainment insurance claims primarily related to COVID-19 performance cancellations and suspensions.

His industry experience includes construction, aviation, automotive, energy & mining, food service, hospitality, retail trade, heavy equipment manufacturing and transportation.

Mark has worked in the catastrophe services area on files received as a result of the Fort McMurray wildfires in 2016. He was also on-site in the Caribbean to calculate economic loss damages for businesses affected by Hurricane Irma and Maria.

Mark obtained his Honours Bachelor of Business Administration in 2015 from Wilfrid Laurier University.

Richard Tam

Richard is a Manager at MDD Forensic Accountants’ Kingston office.

He has over four years of experience in Forensic Accounting and three years as an Auditor with his previous employer. His practice concentrates primarily on business interruption, accident benefits, extra expenses/increased costs, fidelity, downtime losses, lost profits, personal injury and wrongful death matters.

Richard has worked on numerous assignments throughout Canada during his time with MDD. He has experience that spans a wide range of industries including retail and wholesale, agriculture, hotel and hospitality, residential and commercial rental properties and restaurants.

Richard received his First Class Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queen’s University’s Smith School of Business.

Rajen Rajput

Rajen joined MDD Forensic Accountants’ London office in 2015.  In 2021 he was appointed Manager.

Rajen has significant experience in quantifying damages related to business interruption, cyber-attacks, fraud & investigations, fidelity, lost profits and product liability & recall.

He has experience in a wide range of industries, including aviation, hospitality & tourism, professional service, manufacturing, and retail.

Rajen has worked on assignments in loss locations across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, the Caribbean and Central America.  The value of these assignments has ranged from ten thousand pounds to losses in excess of £100 million.

Prior to MDD, Rajen worked as a business interruption specialist at a Loss Assessing (Claims Prep) firm covering losses across the UK. This role, together with the experience gained from working at MDD, has helped him further appreciate the specific needs of both the insured and the insurer.

He has presented several seminars on the topics of cyber risks and business interruption.

Rajen graduated from City University London with a degree in Air Transport Engineering.

Steve Fisher

Steve joined MDD Forensic Accountants’ Detroit office in 2004. He is a Manager at the firm.

Steve’s expertise includes the quantification of economic damages related to business interruption, disability insurance claims, extra expenses/increased costs, fraud & investigations and product liability & product recall.

He has significant experience involving automotive, food services, hospitality & tourism, manufacturing, retail and professional services.

Steve has presented seminars on business income and extra expense as well as a financial refresher related to disability claims.

He is a graduate of Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting.

Angie O’Saben

Angie joined MDD Forensic Accountants’ in 1996 as an intern. She is now a manager at the firm’s St. Louis office.

A forensic accountant with strong analytical skills, Angie focuses on quantifying economic damages for matters related to financial disputes, business interruption, extra expenses/increased costs, lost profits, physical damages, stock & contents, and fraud investigations. She also has significant catastrophe services experience through her work on losses related to the Joplin tornado, Iowa floods and hurricanes Katrina and Charley.

Angie has worked on claims that have ranged from under $1,000 to in excess of $750 million. She has utilized her expertise across various industries, including commercial rental properties, hospitals, agriculture/grain, hotels, logistic companies, retail & wholesale, aerospace manufacturers, telecommunications, manufacturing, and restaurants.

Angie has presented seminars and workshops on lost profits/business interruption and has appeared at arbitration.

She received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree from the University of Missouri – St. Louis.

Ryan Blais

Ryan joined MDD Forensic Accountants Boston office in 1999. He is a Senior Manager at the firm.

Ryan’s expertise includes the quantification of economic damages related to business interruption, extra expense/increased costs, business valuations, divorce & marital disputes, fidelity claims, lost profits, personal injury & wrongful death, fraud and investigations, stock and content losses and subrogation.

He has provided testimony in depositions, arbitrations and hearings.

Ryan has significant experience involving retail and wholesale, restaurants, professional services, hotels & resorts, manufacturing, medical and dental practices, food manufacturing, power generation and distribution, pulp & paper and transportation.

He has been involved in catastrophe losses related to 9/11, Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Ike, Hurricane Irene, Super Storm Sandy, Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Florence.

Ryan graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.

Roman Prytula

Roman joined MDD Forensic Accountants’ Calgary office in 2015 as a Staff Accountant. He is currently a Manager at the firm’s Calgary office.

Roman’s practice area expertise includes business interruption, extra expenses, business valuationlitigation, and lost profits. Roman has extensive experience with files relating to First Nation Bands, analyzing historical records to calculate funds withheld from members. He has also been active in the catastrophe services area, quantifying economic damages due to the 2016 Fort McMurray wildfires.

Roman has handled assignments across a wide range of industries including oil & gas, power generationmanufacturing, food manufacturing, forest products industries, hotels & resorts, commercial rental properties, hospital & health care facilities, medical & dental practices,  transmission & distribution and retail & wholesale.

He is fluent in English, Ukrainian and Russian and proficient in Danish and French and is a graduate of Aarhus University with a Master of Science, Finance and International Business and Kyiv National Economic University with a Bachelor of International Economics.

Sarah Chick

Sarah joined MDD Forensic Accountants’ Winnipeg office in 2014 as a Staff Accountant. She is now a Manager at the firm and works out of the Singapore office.

Sarah’s practice area expertise includes business interruption, fidelity, extra expenses, property of every description, income replacement benefits, commercial liability and stock & contents. She has also been active in the catastrophe services area, quantifying economic damages that occurred as a result of the 2016 Fort McMurray wildfires.

Sarah’s industry experience includes restaurants, retail and wholesale, hotels and resorts, professional services, commercial rental properties, manufacturing, medical and dental practices, agriculture, livestock production and municipal government.

She speaks Indonesian fluently and has presented seminars and workshops on the subject of business interruption.

Sarah earned her Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in History from the University of Oxford.

John Timbol

John joined MDD Forensic Accountants’ Vancouver office in 2012 as a Co-op student. He is now a Senior Manager/Vice President at the firm.

John’s practice specializes in quantifying economic damages related to business interruption, extra expenses, personal injury & wrongful death, lost profits, and stock & contents. He has completed numerous assignments involving first-party and third-party insurance coverage.

He has provided litigation support and expert witness testimony before the Supreme Court of British Columbia.

John has also been involved in preparing business valuation reports in a variety of contexts, including contractual and shareholder disputes.

John has experience in a wide variety of industries, some of which include pulp and paper, mining, rail, construction, power generation, franchising, manufacturing, real estate, financial services, professional services, and healthcare.

He has presented seminars on the topic of economic damage quantification and has worked in the catastrophe services area on files relating to the 2016 Fort McMurray wildfires and the 2017 British Columbia wildfires.

John received his Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) with concentrations in Accounting and Management Information Systems from Simon Fraser University. He also holds the professional designations of Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and Chartered Business Valuator (CBV).

Dave Robinson

Dave is a Partner/Senior Vice President at MDD Forensic Accountants’ London, ON office. He first joined the firm in 2007 and has since worked in London, ON, Calgary and Toronto.

With over 15 years of experience as a forensic accounting professional, Dave’s expertise includes economic damage quantification for matters related to business interruption, extra expense and physical damage, as well as litigation support for loss of profits and personal injury matters. Dave also has extensive experience conducting forensic accounting investigations for matters relating to fraud and cyber-attacks.

Dave has worked on assignments across North America and the UK. He has been involved in engagements that span a wide range of industries including agriculture, cannabis, manufacturing, public sector, construction, sports and entertainment, hospitality, retail and wholesale. He has also been active in the catastrophe services area, quantifying economic damages that occurred as a result of the 2013 Alberta floods.

Most recently Dave spent two years working with a large-scale Canadian cannabis producer.

Dave has provided expert accounting services in support of appraisals, mediations and arbitrations and has provided expert witness testimony at trial.

He has conducted numerous seminars and workshops on many topics including business interruption and fraud and fidelity claims. He has authored articles on economic damage quantification for various insurance publications, including Canadian Underwriter.

Dave is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario where he received a Bachelor of Management and Organizational Studies degree.

Yvonne Kitkarska

Yvonne joined MDD Forensic Accountants’ Montreal office in 2014 as a Staff Accountant. She is now a Senior Manager/Vice President at the firm. Yvonne is proficient in English, French and Bulgarian.

Yvonne specializes in the areas of business valuation, economic loss quantification, and investigative accounting. She has worked on matters across Canada and in the United States, Europe, and South America.

Yvonne has prepared economic loss quantification reports involving intellectual property infringement, professional negligence, breach of contract, physical damage, and personal injury. She has completed numerous assignments involving first-party and third-party insurance coverage. Yvonne is one of MDD’s cyber insurance practice leaders and has completed multiple engagements related to lost profits resulting from cyber incidents.

Yvonne has provided business valuation reports in various contexts, including contractual and shareholder disputes, share purchase disputes and representations and warranties claims, physical damage, and defamation.

She has conducted financial investigations in shareholder disputes and has also investigated numerous employee thefts.

Yvonne has worked across various industries, including retail, wholesale, forestry, metal, pharmaceutical, agriculture and livestock, non-for-profit, commercial real estate, construction, food manufacturing, hotels and resorts, medical and dental practices, restaurants, and marketing agencies.

Yvonne has presented seminars and workshops on the topics of lost profits and business interruption losses resulting from physical damage and cyber incidents.

Yvonne earned her Bachelor of Commerce with a double major in Finance and Accounting with Distinction from Concordia University. She also holds the professional designations of Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and Chartered Business Valuator (CBV).

Hannah McCannell

Hannah joined MDD Forensic Accountants in 2007. She spent 6 years in the Toronto office, followed by 6 years in the Los Angeles office before moving back to Canada. Hannah is a Partner/Senior Vice President at MDD Forensic Accountants’ Toronto office.

Hannah specializes in the quantification of economic damages related to contingency/entertainment insurance claims, personal injury & wrongful death, business interruption, stock & contents, product liability & recall, extra expenses, accident benefits and construction delay claims.

She has a wealth of experience in industries such as film and entertainment, construction, trucking, professional services, retail and wholesale. She has also worked on assignments concerning taxi drivers, teachers and real estate agents.

Hannah has provided litigation support at arbitrations and trials, including expert witness testimony.

She has contributed articles to publications such as Without Prejudice.

Hannah graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor in Management and Organizational Studies degree. She also completed her Diploma in Investigative and Forensic Accounting through the University of Toronto’s School of Graduate Studies.

Handong Lee

Handong began his career with Matson Driscoll & Damico in 2012 and he currently manages the MDD office in Seoul.

He has vast experience in handling large and complex losses in Korea and China relating to insurance claims and commercial disputes with values in excess of USD 200 million. His forensic accounting practice focuses on business interruption, lost profits, extra expenses, liability losses, stock losses and fraud investigation. He has gained experience on catastrophes arising from the Great Tohoku Earthquake of Japan, the Thailand Flood and Typhoon Hato.

Handong has assisted in damage quantification in international arbitration caused by delays, contract disputes and post M&A disputes. His assignments include reviewing indirect cost allocation models, examining activity logs and verifying the financial information complies with the accounting standards. In addition, he has worked on divorce matters in relation to valuation of marital assets and liabilities and has conducted fund tracing exercises to identify the nature of transactions.

He has strong expertise across a multitude of industries, including retail and automotive, electronics, oil & gas, chemical, apparel, shipbuilding, hotel & casino and financial institutions.

Handong has presented numerous seminars and workshops on loss of profit and financial condition analysis to insurance and legal professionals in both Seoul and Hong Kong.

He graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Accounting. Handong is also a qualified accountant in UK and Australia. He is a native Korean speaker.

Alan Smit

Alan has worked in the accounting profession since 2000 and has specialised in Forensic Accounting since 2006. As a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, he has a concentrated focus on business interruption.

He has reviewed numerous large complex mining losses and is regarded amongst his peers as one of the most technically capable forensic accountants in the industry. As a result of this distinction, Alan has played a pivotal role in quantifying some of the largest and most technically complex mining and oil & gas claims that have occurred in recent times. When needed, he has also provided expert witness testimony in court.

As a Senior Consultant, Alan continues to focus on the investigation and evaluation of complex business interruption and economic loss matters. He also works closely with appointed loss adjusters and lawyers to determine the most reasonable assessment of the loss within the policy conditions.

In addition to his business interruption specialisation, Alan is also well versed in public liability claims, economic loss calculations, fraud investigations and specialist accounting reviews.

Throughout his career, Alan has had various accounting roles, including Management Accounting in London, contracting for a global miner in Australia and having Director/Partner roles at global Forensic Accounting firms.

Alan graduated with a High Distinction Bachelor of Commerce from Curtin University and a major in Accounting and Corporate Administration. Upon completing his professional studies in London, he elected to go the extra step of earning the ACCA designation.
